Optimism and self-skills

You may think that certain posts I’ve made appear simplistic and obvious and of course I know they are.  The point is, the simplest most obvious thing can sometimes be the hardest thing to understand and until we understand it, it is not obvious or simple to us at all!

Which comes first, is it optimism or self-skills, or are they collectively developed?

It’s obvious, optimism and self-skills are connected and can fluctuate up or down!

The more we develop our self-skills and the more we experience little successes the more optimistic we become about our abilities.  The more optimistic we feel the stronger our self-belief, self-confidence and self-motivation become.

We all know that we feel better about ourselves when we are optimistic.  When we feel optimistic we feel motivated and are much more likely to attempt things we haven’t done before, feel more confident about our abilities and have a belief that we can achieve a good outcome.

Equally, when we are motivated toward something, we feel energised, confident that we “can do” the thing we are about to do and strong in our belief that we can achieve our aim resulting in a high level of personal optimism.  Other people who observe us while we’re in this optimistic state see many other attributes that they often describe as, enthusiasm, passion, charisma, inspiration, determination and ambition.

There is obviously an invisible link between our self-skills and our “presence” that translates into observable characteristics that other people consciously and sub-consciously pick up on and describe as pessimism or optimism.

The more self-aware we are, the more conscious we are of our own “presence” the more we are able to assess our own state and how others may perceive us.
